Helen Roome specialises in helping business people find more successful ways of working and to communicate with flair and imagination to improve business performance.  Her workshops and coaching are creative, challenging, informative and fun and delegates report that she is highly perceptive in her feedback a most enjoyable way to learn.

Helen has run her own business “Roome for Growth” since 1996 following a background in Human Resources.  This includes working for 15 years in the food and petrochemical industries in the UK and overseas, advising senior management on organisational development strategy, performance management, and career development.  She has a Masters degree in Management Learning from Lancaster University.

Helen is a frequent and inspirational speaker at conferences and a founding director of SpeakersBank - a national network of trainers and speakers committed to working with people in the charitable and voluntary sector to give a voice to the silent.


Lesley MacKay: Before setting up Lesley MacKay Associates in 1992, Lesley worked for 9 years with IBM, drawing on her fluency in German and French to manage international projects and people. She is qualified in psychometric assessment tools and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Lesley's long and successful track record includes work with culturally diverse companies in Europe and the Caribbean.

Lesley describes her approach as professional pragmatism with a sense of humour.


Robert Smith MBA is a widely sought-after international consultant renowned for his enthusiastic motivational and yet forthright style.  He is a Master Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming specializing in leadership development and Solution Focused consultancy. 


He has over 20 years experience in developing leaders in a wide range of settings.  Robert's early years of consultancy where mainly working for IBM in Europe, Middle East and Africa.  During this time he was responsible not only for leadership development but for helping to script presentations and coaching presentation skills. 

He also spent time working with the Motorola MBA intake programme. 


Robert trained the United Nations peacekeeping force in Bosnia. During this period he worked closely with the British Foreign Office and the British Armed Forces.  He has worked with many of the top organizations in the world including Cable and Wireless, the Civil Aviation Authority, Solvay Pharmaceuticals, TNT and Alstom.


In more recent years he has become a highly respected trainer of other consultants. Delegates come from many diverse backgrounds including private companies, public organizations and governmental departments, and typically from over 20 different countries in any one year.  The common theme no matter the setting was how to inspire and motivate others to change.  Robert has a remarkable skill set including being a psychotherapist (UKCP registered). He is able, by using the latest psychological methods, help delegates remove any limiting beliefs about their success.  This ensures that the leader radiates the vision in a way that is totally convincing.  Robert's future activities will see him training across Europe, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, China


Brian Lomas is a business consultant and trainer based on the south coast of England. It is his second career - his first being in retail management in the UK and the USA.


He has over 25 years management experience and ultimately held responsibility for over 100 locations, more than 1000 staff and an annual turnover exceeding 400million.  Shortly before starting his own business, he headed the UK business development and marketing departments for a major high street retailer. 


A law graduate Brian has also attended workshops at Harvard Business School and with Sir John Harvey Jones. 


A published author and lecturer at Southampton University, Brian extensive business and senior management experience places in high demand by senior executives.  This has lead him to develop an executive coaching concept, entitled ‘executive shadows’.  In this Brian provides coaching and mentoring services to a number of MD’s and Directors.


Brian works across the private and public sector with a customer base which include BASF, Ford UK, Motorola, Vosper Thornycroft (multiple divisions), H.M. Inland Revenue, HM Customs & Excise.
